Gallego Celebrates Opening of Phoenix-Mesa Gateway South Concourse

MESA – Today, Rep. Ruben Gallego (AZ-03) celebrated the opening of the new Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport South Concourse. The five-gate, 30,000-square-foot concourse was made possible by $14 million in grant funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which Rep. Gallego helped secure.

“Arizona is booming, and the success of the Gateway Airport is a testament to that growth – helping Arizonans connect to colleagues and loved ones across the country,” said Rep. Gallego. “Now, thanks to our work to pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the airport can better serve the two million travelers who pass through its doors each year.”

Gallego joined Gateway Airport CEO Brian O’Neill, Senior Advisor and Assistant to the President Tom Perez, Mesa Mayor John Giles, Rep. Greg Stanton (AZ-04), and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Acting Deputy Director Jerome Woods at the event, where he delivered remarks lauding the opening of the terminal.

Since its passage, Rep. Gallego has helped secure billions of dollars for Arizona thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. This includes over $1 billion for Arizona’s highways, $95 million to expand the I-10 between Phoenix and Tucson, and $30 million to expand internet access in Pima County.
