Gallego Hosts Roundtables to Discuss Affordable Housing, Homelessness in Arizona

PHOENIX – Today, Rep. Ruben Gallego (AZ-03) gathered with local leaders for two roundtables to discuss his efforts to increase affordable housing and how to tackle the issue of homelessness in Arizona.

“A home you can take pride in is a cornerstone of the American dream. Unfortunately, too many Arizonans are being priced out of owning or even renting a home,” said Rep. Gallego. “I’m fighting to cut red tape and bring home federal resources to ensure Arizona’s housing keeps up with our growing population. It was great to hear from local leaders today about how we can work together to make that happen.”

At the housing roundtable, Rep. Gallego joined leaders from the Arizona Department of Housing, the City of Phoenix Department of Housing, housing developers, and non-profits. They gathered at Native American Connections, an affordable housing provider that Rep. Gallego has successfully secured federal funding to support.

During the event, Rep. Gallego debuted his new fact sheet: Ensuring Affordable Housing & Access To Homeownership in Arizona, which details his work to bring more affordable housing to Arizona by expanding the Low Income Housing Tax Credit, crackdown on Wall Street investors buying up single-family homes, reduce barriers for first-time homebuyers, and more.
