Rep. Gallego Tours Native American Connections Housing Development; Presents Group with Check
PHOENIX, AZ – Rep. Ruben Gallego (AZ-03) toured Native American Connections’ Encanto Pointe development today and presented the organization with a $2.9 million ceremonial community project funding check and Congressional Record in celebration of the organization’s 50th anniversary.
“Native Americans Connections (NAC) is doing excellent work to close the housing gap in Phoenix,” said Rep. Gallego. “Far too many people are struggling to keep a roof over their head, and it’s my top priority to get these Arizonans in stable, affordable housing. That’s why I was proud to partner with Native American Connections to secure nearly $3 million in funding so they can expand housing options for low- and no-income households in central Phoenix, and I was grateful they took the time today to show me around Encanto Pointe, one of NAC’s permanent, supportive housing developments for the chronically homeless.”
Rep. Gallego successfully secured $2,904,213 in community project funding for Native American Connections to build the Osborn Pointe. In total, 48 housing units will be constructed. At Encanto Pointe, Rep. Gallego toured three developments that assist in housing chronically homeless individuals, youth, and homeless veterans.
