Rep. Ruben Gallego Statement on the Nomination of William Barr for Attorney General

WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. Ruben Gallego released the following statement on President Trump's nomination of William Barr to serve as Attorney General.

"I have serious concerns about William Barr's nomination to serve as Attorney General. His public criticism of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation and his defense of the firing of former FBI Director James Comey undermined the credibility of this critical process and should disqualify him from overseeing it.

"The American people deserve to know that justice will be pursued and the law will be respected, independent of partisanship. I strongly urge my colleagues in the Senate to reject his nomination."
