Rep. Ruben Gallego statement on FCC vote to repeal net neutrality

WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Congressman Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) released the following statement in response to the Federal Communications Commission's vote to eliminate the Open Internet Order:

"I am incredibly disappointed by the FCC's irresponsible and partisan decision to repeal net neutrality rules.

"In moving forward with this decision, Chairman Ajit Pai and the two other Republican appointees who voted to repeal the Open Internet Order ignored the widespread outcry against his plan from millions of people, lawmakers, and public interest groups.

"For decades, the United States has been a leader in information technology, and a free, open internet is essential to that. Many of my colleagues and I have been astounded in recent weeks by the phone calls and letters in defense of net neutrality.

"I am committed to fighting for net neutrality to ensure competition, protect consumers, and preserve a free, open internet."
