Rep. Gallego Votes to Move Forward with Impeachment Probe
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) voted to move forward with the impeachment process and establish procedures for open hearings to be conducted by the House Intelligence Committee.
Rep. Gallego released the following statement:
"As allegations and evidence regarding President Trump's illegal conduct continue to pile up, the House is fulfilling our Constitutional duty by moving forward with the impeachment probe.
"Time and again, President Trump has endangered our national security and betrayed the Constitution. The nature of his crimes is serious and warrants a full and complete investigation by Congress. Nobody is above the law, and we must follow the facts to uncover the extent to which Trump's actions and his administration's cover-ups have threatened our nation.
"The American people need to hear the full extent of President Trump's abuse of power, and moving forward with open hearings will allow us to continue to get to the bottom of what happened."
