Gallego Votes Against Partisan Continuing Resolution, Condemns Extremists for Playing Games with American National Security
WASHINGTON – Today, Rep. Ruben Gallego (AZ-03) voted against H.R. 9494. He released the following statement:
“Once again, extremists in Congress have shown they care more about their own partisan games than delivering for the American people. Clearly, they would rather jeopardize our national security and economic stability than work across the aisle to fund the government,” said Rep. Gallego. “I will not allow critical funding for Arizona’s children, veterans, seniors, active-duty troops, small businesses, and hardworking families to be held hostage. We have real issues impacting our state that deserve solutions – it’s past time we stop the partisan gamesmanship and get to work.”
H.R. 9494 is a six-month continuing resolution (CR). This CR endangers our national security and military readiness, shortchanges veterans – particularly those who have benefited from the PACT Act – by $12 billion, and increases wait times at the Social Security Administration.
