Gallego Statement on Court Ruling Against Abortion Pill Access
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, a District Court Judge in Texas issued a ruling striking down a decades-old FDA decision approving a commonly used abortion pill.
Following the ruling, Rep. Ruben Gallego (AZ-03) issued the following statement:
“Ruling after ruling from draconian, conservatives judges have made clear that all reproductive freedoms are under attack and that no woman should consider her rights safe. This is extremely alarming and down-right unacceptable. And while the Democratic-led House acted to protect abortion, the Senate failed to protect Roe in a timely manner and instead let the filibuster be the final arbiter on the issue. It’s now up to the Biden Administration to step in through executive action. I’m going to keep pushing the White House to pull every lever of its power to protect women, and I will not stop fighting against the MAGA extremists in Congress who want to strip every level of reproductive freedom.”
