Gallego Holds Press Conference Touting $1 Billion in Bipartisan Infrastructure Funding Coming to Arizona
PHOENIX, AZ – Today, Rep. Ruben Gallego (AZ-03) held a press conference to highlight the $1 billion in funding coming to Arizona for highway and bridge projects thanks to the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). Rep. Gallego and Rep. Greg Stanton (AZ-04) announced the funding earlier this month.
“Thanks to our Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, $1 billion is coming to Arizona to improve our state’s highways, bridges, and EV network – and that’s just a small piece,” said Rep. Gallego. “Since the bill’s passage, $5.1 billion in funding has been announced. This funding will touch every community in every corner of our state – helping people get where they need to go, faster and safer. It was an honor to be joined today by the local leaders who are working tirelessly to put these projects into place.”
At the conference, Rep. Gallego was joined by:
- Ed Zuercher, Director, Maricopa Association of Governments
- Mayor Mila Besich, Superior
- Mayor Juan F Rodriguez, Tolleson
- Councilman Bart Turner, Glendale
- Mario Paniagua, Deputy City Manager, City of Phoenix
