At Roundtable, Gallego Highlights Jobs, Investment Wins for Arizona in Annual Defense Bill

25 key bipartisan provisions secured by Gallego ensures Arizona remains at the forefront of America’s national security apparatus

PHOENIX — Today, Rep. Ruben Gallego (AZ-03), ranking member of the House Armed Services Subcommittee for Intelligence and Special Operations, held a roundtable with local Arizona defense and industry leaders to discuss his bipartisan wins for Arizona in the Fiscal Year 2024 National Defense Authorization Act.

“As Arizona’s senior member of the Armed Services Committee and a Marine Corps combat veteran, it has always been my top priority to fight for Arizona’s military community, veterans, and economy in the annual defense bill,” said Rep. Gallego. “I’m proud of our efforts working with the Pentagon and the private sector to secure billions in funding for Arizona, and it was a pleasure to both discuss these wins and what more we can do to ensure our state’s defense industry remains strong.”

As the senior-most member of the Armed Services Committee in the Arizona delegation, Rep. Gallego has a unique opportunity to fight for, and secure, numerous wins in the bipartisan defense package. That’s why this year, Rep. Gallego successfully secured 25 provisions that benefit Arizona directly.

Under his leadership, Rep. Gallego has played a leading role in growing Arizona’s economy through the $19 billion economic impact of the state’s defense industry, which translates to nearly 80,000 total jobs.
